With an admission process involving an application dossier and interview, these courses of eighteen months, two years or three years, full-time or including an internship, will reveal your passion for opticianry to make it a driving force throughout your life.

Preparatory class – full-time and sandwich courses

We enable students from non-science backgrounds to receive a brilliant education in the optical professions

Dedicated to non-science students, the preparatory class enables them to gain skills in science and mathematics and pass the BTS OL (Advanced Vocational Diploma in Opticianry and Spectacle Manufacturing) in three years. An additional year to take the time to make sure they don’t miss out on any aspect of the teaching and can build the essential knowledge for their future career as an optician.

The sandwich course combines periods of training and work placements at a company: students spend two days per week learning at ISO and three days at an optician’s shop. The sandwich course is mainly aimed at people who can work independently, and requires great maturity as well as hard work and good organisational skills.

This demanding preparatory class is loyal to ISO’s teaching methods and helps you develop a real capacity to surpass yourself through collaborative work.

Two intensive, exciting years to show you all the aspects of your future career as an optician

Aimed at students who have passed a science baccalaureate, the BTS OL (Advanced Vocational Diploma in Opticianry and Spectacle Manufacturing) lasts for two years. In these two years, the focus is on high standards, developing a taste for hard work and learning how to work collaboratively.

On a full-time basis, the classes taught by ISO from Monday to Friday are complemented by a six-week internship at an optician’s shop at the end of the first year of the BTS OL. Over a third of the time is devoted to the professional disciplines that make up an optician’s day. These practical subjects are taught on a half-class basis, as are English and communication.
